Angleposie的誕生背景，最初是因為工程師 George Carwardine的發明神奇彈簧,觀察到汽車工廠員工,時常要近距離檢查細小零件的需求,而這也成為他以彈簧打造 Anglepoise 的靈感,可以用完美的平衡結合達到最大的靈活性，並成功申請到專利。Anglepoise第五代家族經營者Simon Terry，聯合任職CEO的Richard Sellwood，將素有國民品牌之稱的Anglepoise推向國際。自此後 Anglepoise 持續生產至今，無論是醫療、工廠還是家用，都能看見其身影，之後，甚至成為連英國女皇都會使用的經典燈具。2013年，Anglepoise Lamp更被倫敦設計博物館選中收藏展出。
