Catellani & Smith was established in 1989 following a meeting between Carlo Catellani and Logan Smith on the Balearic island of Menorca in 1985, which gave rise to the idea of designing and producing decorative lamps and everyday objects. Catellani & Smith is unusual in the fact that it originated as a craft industry but today is in tune with the most advanced technology as a leading company in the lighting sector.
